DIAMOND RANKING

Pupils use the Diamond Ranking strategy to consider whose opinions and comments led people to believe that the Titanic was unsinkable.

WHAT DO WE KNOW ABOUT TITANIC?

P7H pupils work in groups using the carousel approach to discover what they know about the story of Titanic.

Biography and Autobiography

Pupils use primary sources of evidence to write a biographical account of an event in the life of Miss Herron's great uncle- Rifleman John Morrison.

'The Woodpecker' by Ted Hughes

Pupils work in groups to draft questions about the poem. They then swapped with other groups who tried to answer the questions using evidence from the text.

Group work as pupils sort and classify inventions.

Drama- P7H demonstrate 'Inventions Then & Now' and discuss how they changed our lives.

P7H pupils designed 'WANTED' posters for famous villains in literature.

Pupils worked together in groups to prepare different questions to ask key characters from 'Under the Hawthorn Tree'. Five brave volunteers then sat in the 'hot seat' and answered the questions from the point of view of Mother, Eily, Michael, Peggy and Mary-Kate.

Classic Fiction- Conscience Alley

The pupils imagine that they are Oliver and weigh up the pros and cons of asking for more food.

Classic Fiction-Think, Pair, Share.

Pupils work together to study an extract from Oliver Twist and note features about the characters, action and location.

P7H pupils work together in groups to decide on our class rules for 2018-2019.
