P1 Mrs Irvine (Term 1)

Forest School: We read a non-fiction book about Autumn and made leaf necklaces. We consolidated our understanding of 3 and strengthened our finger muscles by using the hole punches. 💪

WAU: Burkes brought two big blue tractors for us to explore after we had read some non-fiction books about farm machinery!

Mathematics and Numeracy: We have been playing lots of games to consolidate our understanding of 1, 2 and 3!

Language and Literacy: We went on a word hunt in the forest! The sneaky words were hiding in the trees!

R.E: We went on an “Amazing Journey” to Bible Times to learn about Jesus!

Forest School: We read “Leaf Man” and made our very own leaf people! 🍂

Language and Literacy: We have been reading “The Little Red Hen”. Mrs Devlin brought one of her hens in to meet us! Then we followed instructions to make bread, just like the story! 🐔

Mathematics and Numeracy: We can represent and make 2 and 3!

Mathematics and Numeracy: We went on a 2D shape hunt in Forest School! 🌲

Language and Literacy/ Physical Development: We practised our scissor skills!

Mathematics and Numeracy: We have been learning to represent number one and wrote the numeral! ☝️

Mathematics & Numeracy: We have been sorting for one criterion and practising one to one matching and correspondence!

Language and Literacy: We have been enjoying sharing lots of Oxford Reading Tree stories together. We have also been practising our pincer grip by tearing paper. On Friday we visited Forest School to listen for environmental sounds! 🌲

Primary 1 are settling into school life wonderfully! They are especially enjoying becoming more independent at snack time and developing skills and making friends during play! ☺️
