Studying the Wonders of Japan

As part of W.A.U, P6/7C have started to learn about the topic of Japan. The class have spent time watching videos of traditional Japanese dance, studied different library books to find out new information and have created colourful posters detailing what they have learnt thus far. They have further spent time in class analysing photos of Japan to find out about the differences in cultures and have been able to compare it.

Young Enterprise

Alongside P6S, P6/7C were able to enjoy a visit from Young Enterprise who talked to the classes a little bit about business, focusing on what exports and imports come from the United Kingdom. Working in teams, the classes were set different challenges that had to be completed within a given time frame and looked upon the topic of fair-trade and the benefits it provides. The classes were also given the opportunity to talk to an employee from Asda to find out about her roles and responsibilities in the workplace.

Viking Art

This term Mr Collins P6/7 class have been learning about Vikings in 'World Around Us' (WAU). The class have covered many areas of Viking life ranging from weapons to the styles of houses they lived in. One afternoon recently the class decided to try their hand at making a Viking settlement. Working in groups the class used a range of materials such as cardboard, paper tissue and straw. Using the computers in school, they have made detailed labels to describe the Viking buildings they created. Take a look!
