Dear Parent,

Welcome back to another School Year! I am writing to let you know about the role of the PTA in supporting the school, pupils and its teachers through social and fundraising events.

As I am sure you are aware of the constraints and financial difficulty our schools throughout Northern Ireland face to ensure our children receive the opportunities that enable them to develop and grow.  Unfortunately, Hardy Memorial is not immune to this.  

The PTA is made up of a group of parents along with teacher representatives who plan and organise small and large events throughout the year to help raise essential funds that will benefit all our children.  We welcome all parents to get involved, whether it be attending the PTA meetings or helping in the various events planned. We would love for you to join and any help you can offer will be so much appreciated.  Our school needs us more than ever as some of our classroom equipment will be needing replaced.  The Interactive White Boards as mentioned in previous letters sent home, are near the end of their ‘shelf life’.  The PTA will endeavour to support the school through our fundraising efforts towards the cost of replacing these interactive boards.

 

AGM

The AGM took place on the 19thSeptember 2019.  It was lovely to see some new faces as well as those returning for another year.  All those that attended where elected on to the committee and the election for the vacant roles of Treasurer and Chairperson were conducted.

The PTA will be presenting a cheque shortly to the school as a result of last year’s fundraising efforts.

Many fundraising ideas where discussed during the meeting.  Some new ideas where brought forward as well as some events returning for another year of fun activities for our children and school.
