World Book Day 2020 - WOW!! A massive well done to all the boys and girls in P6S who showcased their incredible โBook in a Boxโ creations today. We even visited P1W to show off our hard work. ๐ ๐
Congratulations to the P6S pupils who today collected their โPen Licenceโ and a brand new handwriting pen. Each of the lucky pupils has maintained an exceptionally high standard of handwriting throughout the year and can now be trusted to write in their Literacy books using a pen! Well done boys and girls.
Oranges in No Man's Land - Freeze Frame! Today P6S wrote short scripts and acted out an encounter between Ayesha and the militiamen. Well done everyone!
MINECRAFT Christmas Challenge. P6S pupils have been enjoying the chance to show off their Minecraft prowess this week!
Congratulations to our three students for bravely and confidently selling to the very generous shoppers at ASDA in Portadown. The Candy Cane Crew have now completely sold out of all products and made an incredible total profit of ยฃ468.30!! The boys and girls are looking forward to spending their hard-earned profit in the new year! Well done again on another successful Business Beginnings project.

Dragonโs Den PTA Pitch ๐ ๐ฐ thank you to our PTA members who visited school today to listen to business pitches by both P6 classes. Members of each class presented their business plans and showed off their products to the very impressed dragons! Well done everyone!

Artist workshop with Johanna Leech ๐จ today P6 were visited by Johanna Leech, a Belfast based creative who is currently the resident artist in Millenium Court Arts Centre in Portadown (next door to Zioโs!). She has a fantastic exhibition running until Christmas and I would thoroughly recommend you all to visit. The creations made by P6S pupils will be hung on the huge Christmas tree in the Arts Centre. Pop along and see yours hanging! ๐
Viking Day - what a fantastic way to finish our Viking topic! The boys and girls had a ball taking part in a range of different activities. Thank you to The Active Learning Company for putting on such a great day!
P6S used the iPad app โGeoBoardโ to create symmetrical patterns. We even had a competition to see who could create the coolest Halloween themed pattern! ๐งโโ๏ธ๐ ๐ป
A huge thank you to Mervyn Steenson, head chef at Grouchoโs, who visited school today to deliver a Healthy Smoothie demo. The boys and girls loved seeing what ingredients you could use and asked Mervyn lots of interesting questions about healthy food!
During Well Being Week, P6S looked at how compliments can do wonders for your mood. We discussed how easy it was to brighten someoneโs day by paying them a lovely compliment. Each pupil wrote down two compliments about another pupil and designed a wing for our display. Compliments Give Us Wings to Fly! ๐

This afternoon P6 welcomed Sean Irving from the EA Pupil Personal Development Service into school. He had the classes in stitches while dealing with a serious topic and gave all the boys and girls helpful tips about how to deal with stress and differing emotions ๐ ๐ข ๐ก๐ณ๐ด Thank you, Sean!

A relaxing afternoon in P6S! We used the charred willow from yesterdayโs campfire to create drawings, all whilst listening to instrumental music and being served fruit smoothies by Mr Smyth! ๐ ๐ ๐ ๐ต ๐จ
A massive thank you to Mrs Robinson from Action Mental Health who visited P6S today. She delivered a fantastic talk on โHealthy Meโ, promoting awareness of both physical and mental health and encouraging pupils to talk about their feelings and seek help if theyโre struggling. A wonderful message!

Well Being Week - โConnectingโ with P1. Today P6S welcomed pupils from P1W into our classroom. We read a book to them and got to know interesting information about them. Now we can look out for the P1โs and help them in school and on the playground. ๐
Viking brooches! P6S recently designed their own Viking brooches and made them using cardboard, pipe cleaners, tissue paper a did tinfoil. The boys and girls had great fun making them!
Jeanie Graham returned today to talk to P6S about the dangers of alcohol.
Following a WAU homework where P6S had to design a Viking brooch, this young man went a step further and actually made his. Very impressive!๐ ๐
Recently in Literacy P6S have been looking at the migration of several animals during our โAnimals on the Moveโ topic. Today we used the iPad app PicCollage to create Fact Files on a variety of creatures! ๐ณ ๐ฆ ๐ ๐๐ฆ
