P6W

We Earned This! P6W and P6S enjoyed their ‘chippy and pizza lunch’ which they purchased using their funds made from our Young Enterprise Business Beginnings project!

Guess Who? We used the Paper 53 iPad app to create our own digital portrait, featuring a few disguises!

Ultimate Adventure! P6W had great fun writing their own survival guides for the Amazon rainforest. We packed them full of persuasive features!

Fun with Drums! We had great fun with our friends from the EA Music Service who taught us the magic of percussion!

Earthquake Proof Structures! To finish off our Japan topic, we learnt about the features of ‘base isolation’ which minimises damage with tremors in Japanese cities.

IZAK9 Eliminator Challenge! We loved using the IZAK 9 cubes to play this challenge - we were asked many questions which tested our knowledge of many concepts this year. We now know the meaning of ‘square root’!

P6W’s spin on World’s Worst Teachers by David Williams! We wrote captions that teachers usually say - we know Hardy really boasts the best!

Pagoda Attack! We loved using the StopMotion app to create animations of a Japanese Emperor having his territory invaded!

Adrian Marley Art! Check out some of our beautiful artwork, based on North Coast landmarks - we really do live in a wonderful place!

Our Emerald Isle! While atlases are important, we used Google Maps to locate the different mountain ranges in NI and ROI. It’s important to know the geography of the place we call home!

Chocolate in class? We have made a brilliant start to our work on fractions in Term 2. We used different coloured smarties to explore numerators and denominators before looking at equivalence. We were even allowed to eat them!

Christmas Jumper Day!

Resilient Rhythms! We were visited by Louise today who equipped us with many techniques and exercises which allow us to channel our emotions and help ourselves feel good!

Talking and Listening! We loved sharing our presentations this week on people we admire; special interests; and places we have visited/would like to visit!

Lights, Camera, Action! We had great fun writing scripts and acting out advertisements for our Business Beginnings products!

Qat-ART! As part of our Shared Education World Cup activities, we had great fun with our friends from St Patrick’s where we created mandalas from forest materials and used the app KaleidaCam to produce these beautiful patterns!

Windsor Park! We had a fantastic day with our friends from St Patrick’s PS in Armagh at the home of Northern Ireland Football as part of our Shared Education initiative which has a problem solving theme around the World Cup in Qatar 2022!

The Candy Cane Crunchers! The production line has not stopped with this busy bunch of elves prepping all of their handmade decorations and treats to sell very soon! Watch this space!

Business Beginnings! It was great to have Cathy, from Young Enterprise, in class to talk all things business including USP, profit, marketing etc. We are very excited about launching our own products soon!

PTA Apple Decorating Competition! Some very creative pieces to showcase the jewel of County Armagh!

Viking Day! Spear making; rune translating; rock chiselling; bracelet knitting; sword duelling - what a day! We learnt so much from Rita and Michael who shared all of their expertise on our wonderful WAU topic!

Home Sweet Home! We are just loving our new classroom after 6 weeks spent in the assembly hall. Thank you so much to Mrs Anderson, Mrs Wilson, Mr McCrea and the talented builders for letting us use this space!

Conscience Alley! Will David or Tucky help the German soldiers in Friend or Foe? We had lots of fun coming up with reasons for and against!

Healthy Kidz! We absolutely our Monday’s when our coach Martin leads us in all sorts of warm ups, exercises and games!

A Whole School Assembly! P6W did themselves so proud as they delivered an assembly on the ‘Fruits of the Spirit’ before singing ‘Faithful One’ a hymn we have learnt together!

We Be Sailin’ - we were very proud of our artwork which featured on the KS2 corridor. We used paint for the sunset and used the techniques of splattering and ripping to create the wave effect!

Forest School! Check out our Viking longboat creations which we made from natural materials found lying on the ground!

The Vicious Vikings! We’re having great fun dressing up for our ‘WANTED’ posters which we’re designing using the PicEdu app on the iPad!

Shannaghmore Day 3! No need for Google Maps, we are now compass experts. We navigated our way through Tollymore using our new compass skills.

Shannaghmore Day 2! It was a little bit damp today but we had lots of fun getting wet and mucky on an Adventure Walk in Tollymore. Harnesses and helmets on for the Low and High Ropes Course and tonight it is Archery! 🏹

Shannaghmore Day 1! Today we had a brilliant day - we settled into our new home for the next three days; went bouldering at Bloody Bridge; and completed a night line around the forest! Roll on Day 2!
