Hardy's Garden

With the help of Jonathan, the gardener, our class spent the day, helping to get our raised beds ready for planting. Everybody had a great time. We learned quite a lot form Jonathan about different types of soil and how to prepare the beds. As the sun shone, it made for a fantastic day out of the classroom. Here are some of the pictures taken by the pupils.

Primary 6 went on a Field Trip to Lough Neagh Discovery Centre.

Following on from our 'Birds & Flight' topic in class, we visited the Discovery Centre to learn about the many birds and mini beasts that inhabit our waters at this time of year. We had the chance to try Pond Dipping, Mini Beast Hunting and Bird Watching. Great fun had by all!

Kite Flying

We made some kites in class as we are investigating flight this term. These are some pictures of all our efforts.

Primary6 Vikings Topic

Primary 6 learned about the Vikings this term. We learned about how the Vikings lived, how they fought and how they survived. We discovered that not only were they fierce warriors, but that they were farmers also. We learned what a typical day in the life of a Viking entailed,  how they survived on their Long boats for maybe weeks on end and how they thought that Ulster was one of the most difficult places to take control of!
