Term 1

Literacy - We learnt about question words (W5) and brainstormed different questions to ask Maximus and Jack. We took it in turns to ask our questions and answer them in the ‘Hot-Seat’.

Literacy - We enjoyed ‘Hot-Seating’ as we took on the role of Maximus and Jack from ‘Maximus and the Beanstalk’ to answer questions.

Numeracy - In pairs, we created fact families on our whiteboards.

Numeracy - We used number cards to create number bonds to 20.

Literacy - We used magnetic letters to build words with the ‘ar’ sound.

Numeracy - In pairs, we worked together to create fact families on our whiteboards.

Numeracy - We were able to determine the numbers needed to complete number bonds to 20.

Literacy - We were able to order the key events of ‘Jack and the Beanstalk’.

Literacy - We loved creating and staining our ‘Wanted’ posters for the Giant. We made sure we included amazing adjectives.

A.B.L. - Transport (Week 4)

Numeracy - In pairs, we sorted 3D shapes into a Venn diagram.

Numeracy - In pairs, we worked together to problem-solve.

Numeracy - We loved playing ‘Blast Off’ and finding the numbers in between.

Forest School 🌲 - We collected natural resources as we went on a ‘Stick Journey’.

Numeracy - In pairs, we rolled dice and worked together to partition numbers.

Numeracy - We loved using number fans to explore place value.

Numeracy - We loved playing ‘Bingo’ to help us recognise tens and units.

Literacy - In pairs, we constructed sentences using verbs on whiteboards.

Literacy - We filled in the missing verbs to complete sentences about the traditional story of ‘Jack and the Beanstalk’.

Numeracy - In pairs, we used concrete resources to explore the properties of 3D shapes.

Numeracy - We sorted 3D shapes by deciding whether they could roll or not.

Numeracy - We investigated the properties of 3D shapes using ‘feely bags’ and explored 3D shapes in real-life contexts.
