A.B.L. - Celebrations (Weeks 4 & 5)
Numeracy - We have learning about counting money and make certain amounts using the least number of coins.
Literacy - We constructed lists using commas on whiteboards.
Numeracy - We explored coins by sorting them according to size, shape, colour etc. Meanwhile, our partner tried to guess how we had sorted them.
Literacy - In groups, we looked at an unusual place from our eBook ‘There’s No Place Like Home’ on ActiveLearn using an iPad. We found information about why our given place is unusual and presented it to the rest of the class.
A.B.L. - Celebrations (Weeks 2 & 3)
Phonics - We worked together to create a word cloud for the sound ‘oy’ sound.
Numeracy - We played ‘1, 2, 3, Show Me!’ using number fans to add three small numbers together.
Numeracy - In pairs, we determined whether number sentences were correct or incorrect and sorted them into a table accordingly.
A.B.L. - Celebrations (Week 1)
Numeracy - We learnt about representing information appropriately and were able to sort number facts into a suitable table.
Literacy - In mixed-ability groups, we brainstormed what it might be like to live in some ‘unusual’ places. We thought about the activities, jobs, weather, clothing and food associated with each place.
Numeracy - We got competitive trying to beat each other’s scores when testing our recall of doubles on ‘Hit the Button’.
Forest School 🌲 - We used adjectives to describe and guess natural materials as well as create ‘transient’ transport artwork.
Literacy - We enjoyed role-playing scenes from ‘Jack and the Beanstalk’.
Literacy - We learnt about question words (W5) and brainstormed different questions to ask Maximus and Jack. We took it in turns to ask our questions and answer them in the ‘Hot-Seat’.
Literacy - We enjoyed ‘Hot-Seating’ as we took on the role of Maximus and Jack from ‘Maximus and the Beanstalk’ to answer questions.
Numeracy - In pairs, we created fact families on our whiteboards.
Numeracy - We used number cards to create number bonds to 20.
Phonics - We used magnetic letters to build words with the ‘ar’ sound.

Numeracy - We have learning about tally charts and can use terms such as ‘most popular’ and ‘least popular’.
Literacy - We loved creating and staining our ‘Wanted’ posters for the Giant. We made sure we included amazing adjectives.

Numeracy - In pairs, we sorted 3D shapes into a Venn diagram.
Numeracy - In pairs, we worked together to problem-solve.
Numeracy - We loved playing ‘Blast Off’ and finding the numbers in between.
Forest School 🌲 - We collected natural resources as we went on a ‘Stick Journey’.
Numeracy - In pairs, we rolled dice and worked together to partition numbers.

Literacy - We filled in the missing verbs to complete sentences about the traditional story of ‘Jack and the Beanstalk’.
Numeracy - In pairs, we used concrete resources to explore the properties of 3D shapes.
Numeracy - We sorted 3D shapes by deciding whether they could roll or not.
Numeracy - We investigated the properties of 3D shapes using ‘feely bags’ and explored 3D shapes in real-life contexts.
