Term 2

P.E.

We’ve been enjoying learning skills including throwing, striking and catching with Mr Flack ⚽️🎈

Numeracy

We had great fun playing Number Bingo to help us recognising the numerals 11-20 🔢

Literacy / Forest School

The Fairy God Mother sent P1 a letter today and it was delivered to Forest School. We found out that she had misplaced her wand, we used sticks, peelers and string to make magical wands for her! 🌟

Numeracy (Practical Measures)

Primary 1 have been investigating capacity. We filled cups of water to show empty, full, nearly empty, nearly full and half full. Mr Flack helped us test what would happen if we changed the size of the cups or used a bowl instead 🥣💦

Science Week

This week we read ‘Jack and the Beanstalk’ and other related stories. As part of Science Week, the giant left a letter asking us to investigate and predict what would happen to the magic beans. During Forest school we planted and watered the beans. We learnt that they need water, nutrients, light and air to grow 🌱

World Book Day!

Mrs Lockhart came into P1 to read a story to us her favourite story for World Book Day. P1 thought it was funny finding out that Mrs Lockhart was a teacher in Hardy Memorial when Miss Blevins was little! 👩🏼‍🏫📚

Forest School / Numeracy
We have been learning all about 3D shapes in numeracy this week. The postman delivered some different shaped packages and for us to look at before going on our own 3D shape hunt in the forest 🧊⚽️🍂
