World Book Day📚👗

No better way to celebrate reading than dressing up! This year we chose to represent a word with our costumes and had lots of fun trying to guess everyone’s words…can you guess what they are? Well done to the best dressed boy and girl for this year!👗📚😊

Fun with Drums🥁

We had a wonderful time visiting St. Patrick’s PS in Armagh as our second session of Shared Ed. It was lovely to see their school and take part in some shared music making with Fun with drums! We got to explore rhythm making with boomwhackers, drums and shakers…a fantastic was to have fun together and get to know each other better! 🥁🤪

Hockey🏑

It was great to welcome Christine to Hardy to help us improve our stick skills. We cannot wait to continue on her Stick Stars program to improve passing, dribbling and shooting skills. Also a big well done to our first star player! ⭐️🏑

Konflux Theatre

It was great to have a drama workshop by Konflux Theatre all about endangered animals! We certainly had loads of fun getting into character and using drama techniques such as still frames to explore this topic. 🎭

More Measuring Fun📏

After using metre sticks and rulers to familiarise ourselves with using cm, we decided try and use measuring tapes to measure more tricky things. We really did feel like seamstresses for the day!  Now taking orders for alterations! 📏👗

Pancake Tuesday🥞😋

A lovely treat on a mild Tuesday afternoon celebrating Shrove Tuesday by eating delish and fresh pancakes! Everyone did get a pancake, but Miss Clarke was not quick enough to snap pictures of some before they were eaten, which just shows how tasty they were!😋

Measuring Fun 📏

We had loads of fun using our metre sticks to find objects within the classroom that are shorter than, longer than and about 1 metre long! We even tested to see if we could jump beyond a metre. Such fun!⭐️📏

Richhill Library📚

A big thank you to Ellen for inviting us down to Richhill library to see what it’s all about! A great morning out learning about all the different children books that are available to loan. We even tried our had at creating our own stories and title pages and who knows… maybe some of us will grow up and become an author that you can find in the library after our inspiring visit! 📚📖

Make it Plural!

Great fun in Forest School this week by finding objects and writing regular and irregular plural words on our whiteboards! Good work everyone! 🌳🍃

STEM Blackout Investigation

As part of learning about the Belfast Blitz we discovered everyone had to have their lights off at night so the city would become a harder target to hit, this meant that people had blackout curtains. We investigated translucent, transparent and opaque materials using lights to discover which material would be best to blackout our windows!🔦🪟

Museum on the Move

A big thank you to Megan and Museum on the Move for sending us out some fascinating artefacts from World War II. It was great to see this part of history so close up and learning all about them!

Shared Education

In P4 we were delighted to meet with St. Patrick’s PS Armagh, our partner school for Shared Education. We had Healthy Kidz activity session filled with team building games, sports, dancing and lots of laughter! A great introduction session to get to know each other ahead of our future sessions. 🏀🕺❤️🤝💙

Evacuation Day🧳🚶

The day has come… time for us to pack up our suitcases as we have been called to evacuate due to World War II. We took refuge in the Palace Stables in Armagh where we learnt all about life in WW2 by meeting an American solider for drill training, seeing examples of an Anderson shelter and learning about the Home Front. We also created Identity cards and labels so we didn’t get lost on our journey. A fantastic day had by all, and well done to everyone for making such a great effort to look the part! ⭐️🪖🧳
