Our P7 Sports Day got off to a great start with the sprints and the Nerf throwing competition. Unfortunately heavy rain put an end to the event and we will have to complete our long run and novelty races on another day.
LOVE FOR LIFE
The Love for Life Team visited the Primary Sevens at Hardy to deliver the programme ‘Inside Out’. The team were very entertaining and we all enjoyed learning and discussing the ups and downs of growing up and moving on to Secondary School.
BEE SAFE
P7 pupils from Hardy attended the annual Bee Safe event at Woodford Hall in Armagh. The event, which was organised by the ABC Council, included workshops about Fire Safety, Road Safety, Safety in the Home, Internet Safety and Safety on the School Bus.
BEING WELL, DOING WELL.
Laura from Action Mental Health has continued her work with the P7 pupils over last few weeks. This week we looked at coping with anxiety and worry particularly relating to moving on to our new Secondary Schools.
STEAM (SCIENCE, TECHNOLOGY, ENGINEERING, ART and MATHS)
The first part of our STEAM project was to design and label a rover to take to the planet Mars to carry out some scientific experiments.
SPACE
P7H were searching for information about the planets in our solar system before making posters using Pic Collage to record our findings.
BEING WELL DOING WELL
Laura from Action Mental Health began working with us on our ‘Healthy Me’ project. We enjoyed getting to know Laura by playing some ice-breaker games.
PRACTICAL MATHS
We estimated and weighed different items using scales.
FLOATING AND SINKING
We learnt about buoyancy in science when we designed a fair test to see whether a variety of objects would float or sink.
💃 LET’S DANCE 🕺
We all had a great time improving our dance skills in a lesson with Mrs Logan.
STEM IN P7H
After our visit to Titanic Belfast we designed and made cranes with the challenge to see which one would hold the greatest weight. P7H did a great job working with each other to make decisions and solve problems.
STEM IN P7
As part of our study of different forms of energy, P7H designed and made Jack-in-the-Boxes using pneumatics.
YOUNG ENTERPRISE
The Primary Seven pupils enjoyed taking part in the ‘Our World’ marketing workshop led by Orla from Young Enterprise.
