90th Anniversary Celebrations!

What a day! We started with a special assembly and were delighted to welcome into school a pupil from the class of 1928 - Mrs Charlotte Sheldon. She was accompanied by Mrs Jose Brennan, Mrs McAdam and Mr Douglas, all former pupils. It was also lovely to have Mr Woods and Mr King, both former Principals of the school in attendance. We were also delighted to have Mr Speers and Mrs Hutchison, representing our Governors.

The boys and girls treated everyone to singing, poetry and a virtual tour of Richhill. We heard about how Mr Hardy had fought so hard for a new school in Richhill. We then listened to our special guests reminisce about life in Hardy Memorial in their day. What a treat it was! Cake cutting and Happy Birthay then followed with the youngest and oldest pupil in attendance on the day, Jethro and Katie cutting the cake with Mrs Sheldon. A special thankyou to Joanne Rolston who made our 90th cake and then 16 cakes - 1 for every classroom!! Our Eco Council then went out with our special guests to plant a commemorative tree!

It was then fun and games for all our pupils - learning the Charleston, playing hoopla, hopscotch, Black Jacks, going on the Pogo Sticks, Kicking the Can, Marbles etc. A host of games dating back to that era. To top it all we had a conker and bubble gum competition.
