Shannaghmore P6W - Day 1!

  • Pupil Council meet with our school cook!

    The Pupil Council met with Joanne, our school cook, to discuss

    • healthy options at break time
    • growing vegetables in our school beds
    • portion sizes
    • etc.

    This was a very productive meeting and council members were very positive about the addition of melon to our healthy options!

    Joanne hopes to use all our vegetable in the canteen when they are ready.

     

    We were delighted Mr Speers, the Chairman of our Board of Governors, took time to pop into our meeting and invite us to the Council Chambers in Armagh to see around in the near future!

  • Boys and Girls Hockey!!

    The Hardy boys and girls were in action at the George Compston Memorial Tournament in Armagh. Both teams played brilliantly and many matches were closely contested. The boys did exceptionally well and finished the tournament as winners. A tremendous achievement!!
  • Miss Herron debuts on Radio Ulster!!

    Well done to Miss Herron who made her debut yesterday on Radio Ulster! She was interviewed by Seamus McKee about P7 work on Shakespeare. Miss Herron explained about the P7 pupils and how they thoroughly enjoyed 'Play in A Day' with the Konflux Theatre. Romeo and Juliets their choice of play to study and then perform. Who can forget P6/7's Christmas production of the play? - it was a real treat! Well done to Miss Herron who excellently executed a 5 minute interview.

  • Silly Crown Day At Hardy!!

    What a fantastic day at Hardy! The pupils had a great day learning about our Queen through some fantastic fun activities. Thank you to all parents who helped with making our crowns they were exceptional. Everyone entered into the spirit of the day, the PTA gave all pupils a chocolate coin and our crown parade was enjoyed by all!! Some classes even had their picture taken with the Queen using Green Screen Technology!!

  • Richhill Recreation Centre Election Day Scheme!

    Richhill Recreation Centre have decided to run an Election Day Scheme on Thursday 5th May 2016 to help parents that aren't able to get the day off work easily.

     
    Election Day Scheme - Thursday 5th May 2016
     
    Early Bird Session 8:30am-10:00am @ £1.00per child
    Single Session 10:00am-2:00pm @ £4:00per child
    All Day Session 10:00am-3:30pm @ £4.75per child
     
    Pre-booking is advisable as spaces are limited

  • Gardening at Hardy!!

    The Eco Council have been working hard with Mr Jonathan Harty to get our raised beds cleared and ready for planting. We hope to grown vegetables that the canteen will be able to use e.g. carrots, potatoes, brussel sprouts etc.

     

    They then planted a snowdrop garden at the front of the school which we hope will look lovely in the autumn/winter.

     

    P6/7 Mr Collins class then worked hard today to ensure we had good topsoil and compost in the beds ready for P4 to plant on Wednesday!

  • P4 Hockey Stickstar Superstars!!

    P4 have just completed their final session with Christine Russell - Armagh Hockey Club Development Officer. Christine has worked hard with the P4 pupils over the last 8 weeks developing their skills through the Stick Stars scheme. A huge thank you to Christine for her fantastic work, the pupils thoroughly enjoyed the sessions and have acquired some great hockey skills!!
  • NI Water Visit!

    We were delighted to have Christine from NI water on Monday in our assembly. She told us all about the importance of drinking water and conserving it when we could. Christine also did workshops with P5 which were fantastic!
