  • Coffee Morning thank you!!

    Mon 22 Feb 2016

Many thanks to all for a wonderful Coffee Morning on Friday. We were overwhelmed with the generous response to our request for scones, tray bakes etc. There were huge numbers of beautiful buns etc sent into school as well as delicious cheesecakes and shortbread baked in aeroplane shapes. It was a lovely community morning with the PTA ladies and some additional parents helping to set up the hall and then serve tea and coffee. In addition the beautiful harp music and Zephaniah Dancers added an extra special buzz to the morning. Thank you all once again for your generous donations on the morning and those people who sent donations into school. The children were then treated to a bun sale treat and helped to raise the magnificent sum of over £800.

Unfortunately having trained on Sat morning Mrs Anderson's jump was then call off due to poor weather however it is rescheduled for Sat 12th March!

  • Rev David Somerville

    Mon 22 Feb 2016

It is with great sadness that we learned of the passing of our valued school Governor, parent and friend, the Rev David Somerville. As a member of our Board of Governors from November 2013, the Rev Somerville was committed to helping the pupils, staff and whole school community in Hardy Memorial in whatever way he could, providing sound educational advice, pastoral guidance and wise counsel at all times.

On a personal level, having only arrived in Hardy Memorial this year, Rev Somerville was welcoming, extremely kind and supportive, a true gentleman, who I have no doubt touched many lives with his quiet, personable manner.

Most recently he encouraged our participation in ‘The Christmas Tree Festival’ in St Matthew’s, a truly wonderful experience for our pupils and indeed one which we will always remember.

At this very difficult time, our thoughts and prayers are with Mrs Somerville, Ian, Sarah, Dan and the whole family circle as they come to terms with their deep loss.

  • Eco Council take assembly!!

    Sun 10 Jan 2016

Our School Eco Council took assembly on Thursday and updated everyone in school on what our main targets are for this year and what we have done so far in working towards our first Hardy Green Flag!! Included in this was the development of our new ECO SCHOOL CODE. This was taught to all pupils. The Eco Council then launched our first interclass competition!! All classes have to be able to recite the code, they can sing it, rap it, chant it, act it out - whatever they wish!!! The competition will take place the last week of January and our Eco Council will be the judges. Good luck to all classes!!
